It started with film
Charles Doherty won the matriculation photography prize when in his final year at high school. That was 1988, when all cameras used film and had a maximum of 36 shots, and where he would develop. By then he had already been taking model portfolios and photographing fashion parades at local shows.
Treading the boards
Charles has been, and still is, a professional actor for over 30 years, touring with many major national and international musical productions. He was also an artist with Opera Australia. Between gigs Charles took headshots for many London and UK based west end musical performers and was listed in Spotlight as a headshot photographer whilst he was based in London.
Digital us
Digital has changed the landscape of photography profoundly since the days of the darkroom. New and powerful tools are available and making it ever more possible to do amazing photography without ridiculous overheads.
It’s with this simplicity, reflected in the price, the Charles Doherty Photography studio is founded.
